Description
Hortense Guggenhimer and Harriet Clark standing on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy. The photograph was taken during Etta Cone's first trip to Europe in the summer of 1901 which she took with her cousin Hortense Guggenheimer and friend Harriet F. Clark. The group traveled with Leo Stein to Naples, Pompeii, Capri, Sorrento, Rome, Orvieto, Florence, Pisa, and Lucca and then the women traveled on to Siena, Padua, Venice, Innsbruck, Munich, Dresden, Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Heidelberg, Zurich, Lucerne, Interlaken, Lausanne, Geneva, and Paris.
