Description
View of the audience for a performance of the play, Room Service, in March 1942 at Aberdeen Proving Ground. The Theatre Division of the Baltimore Museum of Art arranged the play for several performances at the BMA and then, under the sponsorship of the U.S.O., organized further performances at Fort Meade, Edgewood Arsenal and Aberdeen Proving Ground for the soldiers stationed there during World War II. According to the BMA News (March 1942), this was "the first production to tour any of the camps in America complete with its own scenery and lighting equipment." The cast included Peggy West, Betty Anne Sale, Al Moritz, Gordon Miller, Walter Pearthree, Bernard Hoffman, Charles Moffett, and Neal Miller.
